Season 2: Episode 11: Lisa Oz & Jill Herzig

Slowing down and taking life’s unexpected twists one step at a time.

What happens when your child’s needs clash with a demanding career? And how can celebrity status intersect with parenting? In this week's episode, I had the opportunity to connect with Lisa Oz and Jill Herzig, co-hosts of the podcast "Road to Somewhere". Their show is designed for anyone grappling with life changes, and explores how to get fearless about transformation and enjoy the ride.

So it was no wonder that this week's guests were incredibly open about their own journeys, and talked freely about the intersection of motherhood and career. Both Jill and Lisa have had astonishing careers, with family deeply woven into the journey. Prior to starting the podcast, Jill served as Editor in Chief for "Dr. Oz, The Good Life", was Editor in Chief for "Redbook' magazine, and was the Executive Editor for "Glamour" magazine. In addition to raising four children with her husband Dr. Mehmet Oz, Lisa has written five New York Times best-selling books, and has worked in acting and producing.

Both Jill and Lisa have forged interesting careers, while being candid about putting motherhood first. They each took different paths, and grappled with the demands of celebrity in different ways, Their roads have led to somewhere pretty amazing.
